BRAND OF TODAY: THE KOOPLES

A BRAND. I know we normally are thinking in low-cost brands like Zara, Mango, some brands in El Corte Inglés (Spanish commercial center) or about British and American shops like Topshop, Asos, River Island or Free People. And you can find all their collections in a lot of fashion blogs and everybody is wearing the same all the time because one example if that season the trend is khaki jacket with black leather sleeves everybody in every blog is wearing that cloth and sometimes with the same look, there isn’t anything new. And I bet for those blogs where a person wears a khaki jacket but different like with some touches of bright or the neck with a kind of print or some metal stuffs that is different and makes your look so different than the rest. I love those brands where have their special pices of clothes and that makes a special brand and unique.

The Kooples is a new one for me, because you can find some piece clothes maybe similar like others but with his particular detail like the neck, the sleeves or the buttons.

The Kooples is a prêt-à-porter French brand created in 2008. The creators are Alexandre, Laurent and Raphael Elicha, they are Tony Elicha’s sons who is the designer of Comptoir des cotonniers brand.

The Kooples design clothes for males and females with the important concept “chic street”, which is inspirited firstly from rock, vintage and British style. The black and grey colors are the predominant in the collections and also the decoration in the boutiques.

The brand proposes androgynies clothing and mixing, where the designs are coordinating between males and females (the same colors, forms, prints, etc) and playing with a esthetic symbiosis between the couple.

And in my opinion this brand is a mixed between minimalistic, fresh and pastel colors, classic pieces of cloths and all those kinds of prints.
